"The Book," he had noted, "does not open from left to right nor right to left, but from top to bottom: one page in the sky, one page in the dust."

The Apotheosis of Tina Chopp

Of the numerous graffitos of the mid-to-late 80s proclaiming the divine nature of one Tina Chopp, this one, near my digs in Wallingford, is the last remaining one that is known to me. Please let me know if there are any others which yet persist.

Update: I alerted the Church of Tina Chopp of my sighting, this morning. In less than 12 hours, one of their representatives visited the site, and took some more photos, including one of my house. My advice: Go and harass the Scientologists before messing with these people. They are very efficient.

Another fine recipe from The Texas Chainsaw Epicure:

Critters and Taters

Ingredients:
1 young possum
8 sweet potatoes
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon sugar
salt to taste

Directions: Skin the possum, remove the head and feet. Wash thoroughly. Freeze overnight. When ready to cook, peel the potatoes and boil until tender in lightly salted water along with the butter and sugar. At the same time, stew the possum until tender in a tightly covered pan with a little water. Arrange the taters around the critter, strip with bacon, sprinkle with thyme or marjoram, or pepper, and brown in the oven. Baste often with the drippings.
