Rubin brightens Fox 2000 'Light'

Fox 2000 and producer Gil Netter have tapped Oscar-winning scribe Bruce Joel Rubin to adapt "Into the Light."
The film is based on Robert Kurson's upcoming book, which was expanded from an article originally published in Esquire.
"Light" chronicles the true story of Michael May, a blind athlete who, among other accomplishments, holds the downhill skiing record for a completely blind person, racing at 65 mph. In 1999, May was offered a revolutionary stem-cell operation that potentially could restore his sight.
Rubin, who won an Academy Award for "Ghost," also penned "Mimzy," which Robert Shaye is directing for New Line Cinema, and "Strange Son" for Julia Roberts and Red Om Prods.
He is repped by CAA and attorney Howard Fishman.
