Quest Books Return!
Quest Books were one of my very first professional writing gigs: two six-part series of numbered-paragraph gamebooks for teens with reading difficulties, published by Oxford University Press in 1986. Now the first series, The Adventures of Kern the Strong, has been republished in CD-ROM format.

A Festive Factoid
Think Christmas is too commercial? Well, consider this. Before he re-branded himself as Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas was, among other things, the patron of pawnbrokers. It seems he has perfected the art of driving half the world into debt on an annual basis...

I've been Wiki'd!
You know you've arrived when you're in Wikipedia! There's a little bio culled from various interiews I've done over the years, and links to a couple of other pages with some rather out-of-date lists of my writing credits.

Graeme Davis

Game Writer

Welcome, and thanks for taking the time to visit.

I'm a game writer with 21 shipped titles across most platforms. I have also published a fantasy novel, several tabletop games and sourcebooks, and numerous game-related magazine articles.

Game writing is like haiku: every word has to count. I cut my teeth writing powerful ad copy within iron-bound line and character limits. It was good training.

I've performed on radio and stage, and as voice talent on two games. I know what voice actors need.

I helped create the Warhammer and Vampire: the Masquerade game properties, among others. I understand IP development.

I've worked with the biggest names in the industry: Microsoft, Sega, Activision, Games Workshop, Hasbro, and many others.

I've written for AAA titles like the Total War franchise and G-Police, and I've been a lead designer and a design director.

I hope I've convinced you to take a look around. If you like what you see, please contact me so we can discuss your needs.

These projects haven't been announced yet, so I can only give vague details:

A chapter for a book on game writing. Complete.

Story and script creation for a historical strategy game. Ongoing.

Available Now

Men in Black, a cell-phone arcade-action game from Reaxion Corp. I found that the limitations on screen and download size make writing for cell-phone games a unique challenge.

Detective Puzzles, another cell-phone game from Reaxion. It's a series of puzzles - reminiscent of early 90s games like Sid Meier's Top Secret - woven into a gritty detective storyline.

Online Chess Kingdoms is a PSP game developed by Leviathan Games for Konami, with sets based on its own unique mythology and a multiplayer mode which involves conquering a fantasy world by playing what is, after all, probably the world's oldest board wargame.

Blood and Honor is a Dungeons & Dragons novel in the fantasy-noir Eberron setting.
