David D'or Israeli Contra Tanor

David D’Or, a singer and a composer, has a unique style of singing in the Israeli music scene, having to his acclaim eight gold and platinum albums. With a "voice from heaven", he harmoniously integrates elements of classical, pop, ethnic, Jewish and world music into his own style.

David D’Or’s musical career began at the Academy of Music in Jerusalem (1987-1990). Simultaneously to his studying, he played numerous roles at the Habima National Theatre.

In 1991 when David’s first album was released, it received rave reviews and was awarded a gold album. That year David was invited by the conductor, Zubin Mehta and the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra to perform ‘Carmina Burana’.

In 1994, D’Or was invited by the Pope to perform in Rome. The concert was broadcast worldwide and received enthusiastic reviews. David has since performed numerous times in the Vatican. He composed a song especially for the Pope’s celebration of his 20 years of service, which David performed at the San Petro before millions of viewers worldwide. The performance received much praise, David D'or will be touring Australia in March 08
