Billericay Town Football Club Put up For Sale

Last seasons Ryman League Premier Division Champions Billericay Town Football Club have been put up for sale. The is club owned by double-glazing businessman Steve Kent.

After months of agonising, Kent came to the decision he feels is in the best interests of the Conference South newcomers. Placing the club up for sale to interested parties. Kent who bought the football club in January 2004 from shipping businessman Rod Moore, has recently said new investment was needed if there is going to be any increase in this season’s playing budget after last season’s promotion.

The self funding club is ran virtually debt free by Steve and his wife Sharon. Who will remain at the club for as long it takes for the right person to come forward and help take the football club on to the next level. Steve’s legacy at the non-league club will not only be promotion into the Conference. He will also leave behind the terrific clubhouse at New Lodge.

Billericay Town Football Club was formed in 1880. The are just one of two sides who have won the FA Vase three time. All together the football club have won seven championships and ten cups in their history.
