Andorra’s national broadcaster RTVA has confirmed they cannot afford to return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016.
The director general of the broadcaster confirmed to Spanish blog Eurofestival that the broadcaster has no plans to return to the contest due to a poor financial situation. EBU withdrawal no longer seems to be touted as a possibility but it seems unlikely that Andorra will return in the near future.
Andorra last participated in 2009. The country has never reached the Eurovision final but came closest in 2007 when Anonymous’ “Salvem el Món” came 12th out of 28 entries. So far San Marino is the only microstate to reach the Eurovision final.

Not true. Malta is a microstate. They have qualified.
