Free Clip Art

Directions: Click one time on an active ClipArt category in the list below and a "contact sheet" will be displayed. The sheet consists of thumbnail images of the art clips in that category. Note that several minutes may be required to build a typical contact sheet. Also note there is a link at the bottom of each contact sheet that will return you to this page.

Follow this three step procedure to save or copy an image:
Step 1: Click one time on a thumbnail of interest and the full-sized image will be displayed.
Step 2: Place the cursor on the full-sized image and click and hold the mouse button or right click, depending on your machine and how it works. A popup menu should appear. Practice on the art clip at the top of this page if you wish.
Step 3: Users of Netscape Navigator start the download procedure by moving the cursor over (or click on) "Save this image as...," then releasing the mouse button. Internet Explorer users should move the cursor over (or click on) "Save Picture As..." (or "Download Image to Disk") and release the mouse button.

Some clip art is drawn in grayscale rather than black and white bitmaps, so it should be printed with color/grayscale selected rather than black and white. There are graphic programs that will permit you to select part of a clip art, or convert from one format to another. Click on download.com for a site that provides freeware and shareware programs for both Windows and Macintosh machines. You may need to change the link at the upper left part of the page to switch between software for the two platforms.
