allir jǫfrar.

Nefnðak áðr nær þrjátøgu tígna menn*, gœdda tíri, en allir þeir jǫfrar eru þrætulaust ættar Jóans.

Earlier I mentioned almost thirty distinguished men, endowed with glory, and all those princes are indisputably of Jón’s family.

Mss: Flat(144vb)

Readings: [2] þrjátøgu: þrjátigi Flat    [3] menn*: manna Flat

Editions: Skj AI, 589, Skj BI, 590, Skald I, 287-8; Flat 1860-8, II, 528.

Notes: [2] þrjátøgu ‘thirty’: For this form, see Note to st. 8/4. — [3] menn* (m. acc. pl.) ‘men’: Manna (m. gen. pl.) ‘men’ (so Flat) makes the l. tetrasyllabic rather than trisyllabic. Both forms are possible syntactically, and the emendation follows earlier eds.
