General Camp Information
Registration is open to campers ages 10 - 16
Housing is provided in new (1994) College Residence Halls. Each unit has 4 bedrooms with 3 campers per bedroom. Separate units for boys and girls, with an adult conselor in each unit. The camp has a 6 to 1 camper to counselor ratio.
Computers are available in 3 computer labs, all 486 or higher machines, attached to a Novell network. Each camper will have access to his or her own computer.
College Credit will be available from Vermilion Community College. One credit will be available for each week attended.
We know that computer Games can add an exciting dimension to computing, so we've included network Doom II, Heretic, Rise of the Triad, Hexen, WarCraft II, and other multiplayer games. We've scheduled tournaments, with prizes for the winners.
Recreation activities are scheduled to help campers enjoy the beauty of the surrounding BWCA. Visit the International Wolf Center and an underground mine (a Minnesota State Park). Hiking the numerous trails, canoeing, fishing, and swimming make this a camp unlike all others. And, of course, we'll make full use of the College gymnasium, tennis courts, and athletic fields.
Weekend activities include of choice of a guided canoe trip into the BWCA wilderness or day fishing trips to Basswood Lake or trips to local Wilderness sites. Maybe we will even sleep in a little!
Commuters are welcome and can participate in all camp activities. The reduced fee for commuters is $125.00 (includes lunch) and $150.00 (includes lunch and dinner).
