Since 1987, the brilliant DOUBLE EXPOSURE team of Bob Robertson and Linda Cullen has welcomed CBC Radio listeners into its fantasy world of wickedly satiric scenarios. And though Margaret Thatcher, Brian Mulroney, Joe Clark and many other icons of political life have shuffled off centre stage, they have been replaced by a new generation of public figures who fire the DOUBLE EXPOSURE imagination.
Brian Tobin rescuing frozen turbot from the restaurants of Canada, Preston Manning "ee-lim-inating" everything in sight, weather channel star Lila Feng cheerfully giving us the latest conditions on Mars, small but vital reporter Victoria Penner desperately searching for the Canadian angles on the O.J. trial -- it's all delightful fun for DOUBLE EXPOSURE fans.
Bob Robertson and Linda Cullen write and perform everything heard on DOUBLE EXPOSURE. For their efforts, DOUBLE EXPOSURE was named Best Weekly Network Program on CBC Radio and Stereo in 1994. And their CBC Television special last New Year's Eve was so successful, it will be back in 1996.
The DOUBLE EXPOSURE duo has entertained Canadians at sold-out public shows across the country, from the Victoria Commonwealth Games to tours of the Atlantic provinces. And the Farewell Gala for Brian Mulroney in the nation's capital wouldn't have been the same without them.
DOUBLE EXPOSURE's first book was released in fall 1995 by Whitecap; and the team's series of zany concerts with symphony orchestras, including the Vancouver, Winnipeg and Edmonton Symphonies, is delighting music and comedy lovers alike.
