Sunset Beach is a place where everyone knows everybody
else's business. It's home to the rich and poor, young and old,
warm beaches, casual charm and a legend that pervades the entire
character of the community. Sunset Beach, the first
daytime serial to debut on television in eight years and Aaron
Spelling's first entry into the daytime arena, premieres Monday,
January 6, 1997 (3:00 - 4:00 p.m.) on CHCH-TV.
The 21 member cast includes such names as veteran actress Lesley-Anne
Down, Sam Behrens, Susan Ward, Clive Robertson, Leigh Taylor Young,
Kathleen Noone and Ashley Hamilton.
Set in a small Southern California coastal community, Sunset
Beach is comprised of a diverse mix of people: police
officers, lifeguards, newspaper reporters, doctors, waiters and
restaurant owners. It has its share of interesting personalities
like the "trophy" wife of a high-powered, unscrupulous
attorney, who lusts after power and social status; a mysterious,
wealthy entrepreneur; an eccentric, personable socialite; a career-driven
physician; a good cop gone bad; an all-American hero with a tormented
past; a troubled young runaway; a conniving half-sister; and a
young man who holds a secret that could destroy his entire family.
To keep up with the latest goings-on, most residents can be found
at the Java Web cyber coffeehouse, the blues/rock club called
The Deep, or Elaine's Waffle House.
Sunset Beach, the hottest spot to be come January,
premieres Monday, January 6, 1997, at 3:00 p.m. on CHCH-TV.
