Netscape Communications says it is planning to post beta versions of Communicator for Unix, Macintosh, and Windows 3.1 in early February. The beta versions of the new browser will all include Java support. A beta version of Communicator for Windows 95 has been available from the company's Web site since December.

Cyrix reported increased revenues and a net loss for the fourth quarter ended December 31, and for 1996 as a whole. The quarter's revenues were $72.1 million, up 84 percent from the same period last year. In the quarter, Cyrix lost $4.5 million, or 23 cents per share, compared to a $9.9 million loss, 49 cents per share, for the same period last year. Total 1996 revenues were $183.8 million, down from $228 million in 1995. The company had a 1996 net loss of $25.9 million, or $1.33 per share, compared with net income of $15.6 million, or 78 cents per share, in 1995.
