Focus on the Patient
We stress the importance of personal counseling as a key
element in a patient's prescription drug therapy. We've
developed innovative pharmacy services to better serve our
patients, such as the Eckerd Rx Advisor, a
prescription information leaflet which gives patients key
information about their prescriptions. We've remodeled our
pharmacies to include a consultation area, and made the
pharmacist more accessible to the patient.
Advanced Pharmacy Systems
Comp-U-Care 2000, our advanced, proprietary pharmacy
system software, enables you to serve the needs of your
patients with unparalleled efficiency and TPAS (Third Party
Authorization System) instantly verifies insurance claims
via satellite. Ordering, delivery, and labeling systems are
streamlined for maximum efficiency. Our high-volume
pharmacies are equipped with Baker cells.
Pharmacy Support Line, a dedicated helpline for immediate
answers to questions about managed care plans. Eckerd
District Pharmacy Managers and Pharmacy Operations Managers
provide day-to-day operational support. Eckerd Pharmacies
receive daily pharmacy deliveries through our network of
Regional Distribution Centers. A highly-trained staff of
drug technicians and clerks will assist you in the pharmacy.
We offer financial assistance to help defray the cost of
your education. Upon graduation, you are not required to
work for us, but your involvement in either program will be
taken into consideration if you decide to apply with us, and
become an Eckerd Pharmacist. Our fully-paid CE courses are
ACPE approved, and recognized as among the best in the
industry. To expand your managerial skills, we offer a
number of corporate training programs.
Pharmacists are key members of our management team; four
of our six regional vice presidents are pharmacists, as are
many of our corporate executives. Pharmacists also fill key
managerial positions such as District Pharmacy Managers and
Pharmacy Operations Managers. Our Pharmacy Speakers Bureau
program trains volunteer Eckerd Pharmacists for television
and newspaper interviews and to speak to schools and
community groups to discuss today's health issues.
We employ more than 4,000 pharmacists. Why did they
choose Eckerd? For the opportunity to work in a growing
company, where they can grow professionally, and work to the
benefit of their communities.

Drug Store Career Opportunities At Eckerd
Working in a retail environment is fun and highly
interactive. Retail is about working with people and
providing them a service. That means helping customers! Our
associates work days, evenings, weekends and even holidays.
That also makes a great job for people who like a flexible
schedule. Many of our hourly associates work part time and
enjoy the hours that fit their schedule.
When you shop, you may only see the cashier operating a
register, but there is much more to providing a pleasant and
satisfying atmosphere to our customers. Our associates do
many "behind the scenes" activities such as stocking
merchandise, cleaning, straightening the shelves, unloading
boxes, helping customers on the phone, and putting up sales
signs. And then we do it all again the next day. All to
provide our customers with a well-stocked store that's
pleasant to shop in.
You must be at least 16 to work at Eckerd. Some positions
may have additional age restrictions required by law.
