Sweeney Town, a VR Bike World

World Statistics

The Sweeney Town world is 440 acres, with 15 miles of trails. You can ride anywhere in the world, not just on trails and roads.

Networked Bikes

Riders of other VR Bikes exist in the same VR world as you. You can see them on the map as large colored squares. When you see them in the world, they will have black tops to distinguish them from computer-generated bikes. Up to eight VR Bikes can participate in the races, racing against each other as well as the computer-generated bikes.

The Map

Shows your position and direction in the world. Other networked VR Bikes show up as large squares, and computer-generated bikes are small squares.

Gears

There are 15 gears, arranged like on a 15-speed mountain bike. In 15th gear on level ground, you can reach over 30 mph with a fast cadence.

Races

Race against three computer-generated cyclists, colored red, blue, and purple, in addition to any networked bikes that are riding with you. The Short Race is about six tenths of a mile long, with one water jump. The Long Race is 4.5 miles long. It's quite difficult to beat the red bike; you must make an all-out sprint for the last tenth of a mile to have a chance.

Mountain Bike Trail

The longest and most difficult course, 5 miles of hills and twisting trails.

Flower Tour

An easy course for warm-up or low-intensity exercise.

SuperStuff Pit

Located about a quarter mile northeast of the starting point, this magenta-colored pit has artificially high gravity and low friction. Ride into it and see what happens!

Hills

Hills feel just as they should -- they are hard to pedal up and easy to pedal down. For the fastest performance over the courses, you should maintain your effort up hills, reduce gears if necessary, then increase your gear going downhill.
