EAI Corporation is a privately-held company founded in September 1980 by its current CEO and principal stockholder, R. William Mengel. Built from the outset on the philosophy and practice of providing quality service at a competitive price, EAI has won several awards for customer service and is in the process of ISO 9000 certification.
Our company's expertise in chemical and biological warfare and related issues has allowed us to achieve a substantial market position in the following key areas:
Over the past 15 years, the company has expanded at a controlled pace as the technical and administrative foundations for growth were developed. The approach has been to build on our core expertise in all aspects of supertoxic chemical agents. Originally focusing on systems analysis and operations research related to CBW R&D, the company has transitioned these skills and knowledge to CBW arms control, destruction, and related environmental restoration at military bases.
Key milestones in EAI's growth include:
|FY83-84||Initial chemical stockpile agent disposal (CSDP) work|
|FY87||Establish CSDP R&D laboratory|
|FY88||Award of U.S. Army CRDEC Tech-Admin Support contract to EAI-led joint venture|
|FY90||Award of significant environmental tasking at Edgewood, MD|
|FY91||Competitive award of 60-month CW Treaty R&D support services contract|
|FY92||Acquisition of C-E Operations and Maintenance Services, Inc., for chemical plant experience|

|FY95||Subcontractor to Teledyne Brown on 8-year Small CW Burial Site Remediation Program|
|FY96||Subcontractor to Booz-Allen & Hamilton Inc. on CBDCOM support contract involving significant joint arena work|
EAI has a 70% win rate for competitive contracts, demonstrating our ability to develop viable market strategies and to build on available capabilities. EAI has also been a leader in the emerging CBW counterterrorism market.
