    Intel Corp. unveiled price cuts of as much as 48 percent Monday, while keeping the price unchanged on some of its newest, most powerful computer chips. The world's largest chipmaker cut the price of its Pentium 200 Megahertz chip by 48 percent to $257 from $498.

  • Errant Quotes Down GeoCities Servers
    Netizens with Web pages on GeoCities' servers were unable to access their work for an 8-hour period over the weekend because of a glitch in the server's database, company officials say. The snag resulted from one customer who entered a username along with "a lot of quotes." This caused the system to delete a number of user profiles and replace them with a default account. The company reports it has restored all database information from backups and that the system is running normally.
