Background

Born and raised in New York City. I've taught at all levels of education, either formally or informally. Professionally, my focus is 19th-century U.S. social history with an emphasis on women's history. Graduate work at Carnegie-Mellon in the late 1970s hooked me on computers; they've been a part of my teaching, research and learning since then.
