1995-1996:
The biggest surprise of last season, Michael became a solid performer for the Tigers. Over the last nine games of the season he scored 58 points (6.4 per game) and grabbed 49 rebounds (5.4 per game). He grabbed a career-high nine rebounds on two occasions, last against UC Irvine on Mar. 3. He also scored a career-high 17 points in the same game on six-of-10 shooting. He was second on the team with 33 blocks, finishing third in the Big West with 1.3 blocks per game. Against Nevada on Feb. 8, he rejected five field goal attempts, establishing a career high. He played a career-high 21 minutes against UC Davis on Dec. 16. He averaged 10.0 minutes per game for the season, but down the stretch was on the court 13.9 minutes a contest.

College:
Michael transferred to Pacific from Brunel University in Uxbridge, Middlesex. Brunel did not sponsor an athletic program, but Michael played recreationally.

High School:
Olowokandi graduated from Newlands Manor School in E. Sussex, England in 1993. Michael was a track athlete in high school. He currently holds two of Great Britain's national school records in the long jump and triple jump.

Personal:
Michael Olowokandi was born on April 3, 1975 in Lagos, Nigeria. Michael lived in Nigeria until age 11. His father, a Nigerian diplomat, was transferred to London, England, where Michael stayed until his arrival in Stockton. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.G. Olowokandi. He is majoring in economics at Pacific.
