PENGUINS CLAIM PETER AND CHRIS FERRARO

PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Penguins have claimed Peter and Chris Ferraro off waivers from the New York Rangers, it was announced today by General Manager Craig Patrick.
The twin brothers were drafted by the Rangers in 1992 – Peter in the first round (24th overall) and Chris in the fourth round (85th overall). Both are 24 years old and listed at 5-10, 185 pounds.
Peter Ferraro has played seven NHL games in parts of two seasons with the Rangers, registering one assist. Last season, with Binghamton of the American Hockey League, he had 38 goals, 39 assists, 77 points and 171 penalty minutes in 75 games. Peter also played for the 1994 U.S. Olympic team, scoring six goals in eight games.
Chris Ferraro has played 14 NHL games with the Rangers, recording two goals and one assist. Last season with Binghamton, he had 29 goals, 34 assists, 63 points and 94 penalty minutes in 53 games.
