AIM OF SSSRD

The Society for Syrian Studies, Research and Development (SSSRD) is an independent, non-profit research group. It is concerned with issues of political, social, and cultural development.

SSSRD promotes studies on Geographical Syria and, to a lesser extent, the Arab World. It also publishes material to increase public awareness of critical policy issues.

SSSRD was founded in 1993 by a group of intellectuals from the Fertile Crescent concerned with the national interest. It draws on their expertise to carry out its work. The Society also cooperates with independent, non-profit research institutions in the region and around the world.
