" When AB Airlines was created in 1993, little did we know that by the spring of 1997, we would be flying to the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, to complement our services to Shannon, the gateway to the West of Ireland - and now to Berlin, the German capital city by the winter of the same year!

Lisbon, Berlin and Shannon personify our policy to develop niche routes from London-Gatwick, now rapidly emerging as one of the world's most important international connecting airports.

Central London is easily accessible with train services leaving the airport station, right inside the terminal building, every fifteen minutes for the West End of London (Victoria) and equally as regularly for the City.

Trains and buses also serve the Sussex Coast, the Midlands and the North of England.

interesting articles on the various
locations that we fly to.
Shannon International Airport offers the visitor unrivalled access to the West of Ireland. Discover stunning coastal beauty and ever changing landscapes, the friendliness and charm of the local pubs and, above all, the very best value in food, accommodation and entertainment.

Lisbon itself is one of the great maritime centres of the world. It was from here that Vasco da Gama set sail on his voyages of discovery across the oceans. City of Culture in 1994 and soon to host Expo 98, Lisbon is also a city of parks and beautiful tree-lined avenues. With 3,000 years of history, a balmy Mediterranean climate and an unspoilt Atlantic coastline, Lisbon is well worth discovering for yourself!

Our newest destination, Berlin, is Germany's capital and largest city. It is an international centre for art and culture, theatres and museums. You can stroll down the cosmopolitan Kurfuerstendamm to visit "KadeWe", Europe's largest department store, or enter the former Eastern part of Berlin through the Brandenberg Gate.

Directly behind this landmark is Unter den Linden, a magnificent boulevard lined with 18th and 19th century buildings, St Hedwig's Cathedral and the National Opera House. As a respite from sightseeing, you can relax in Berlin's beautiful surroundings - in the wood, by the lakes or on a river cruise on the Havel and the Spree.

Come and see for yourself! I look forward to welcoming you aboard AB Airlines very soon, "
