Heart Shaped Scrubbie

Approx. 4 1/2" by 4 1/2"

 

Materials:

Netting (net tulle) medium size: 3/4 yard pink or red

Small amount of cotton worsted yarn like 3/4 oz.

G or H hook (4.5-5mm)

 

Cut the netting into about 1 inch wide lengthwise strips. Join strips with the slit method (also called splicing - where you cut a lengthwise slit in the end of each strip of fabric, then slip strips through slits and pull them carefully until they are flat.). OR

Cut the netting into one, long 1" wide strip starting at the outside edge and running all the way around the edge evenly in a circular pattern.

Rnd 1: With the netting strip, ch 10.

Rnd 2: Sc in 2nd ch from hk, sc in each ch across, 3 sc in last ch, now working in remaining lps from rnd 1, sc across, 2 sc in last ch, sl st in 1st sc to join.

Rnd 3: Sc in next 2 sc, 2 hdc in next sc, 2 dc in next sc, 2 tr in next 4 sc, ch 3, sl st in next sc, sc in same st, sl st in same st, ch 3, 2 tr in next 4 sc, 2 dc in next sc, 2 hdc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, sl st in 1st sc to join.

Rnd 4: Sc all the way around, including the chs.

Rnd 9: 2 sc in next 2 sts, sc in next 7 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 2 dc in next st, 2 tr in 4 next sts, 2 dc in next 4 sts, sc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next 4 sts, 2 tr in 4 next sts, 2 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, sc in next 9 sts, sl st to join, finish off.

Attach complimentary or contrasting colored cotton yarn with st st to any st, ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st in ch 1. Finish off.

 

Variations: You can make round, rectangular, and square scrubbies also.
