The Fine Red Cat
HI there, and welcome to The Fine Red Cat Homepage!

The Fine Red Cat started as a small story that my sister wrote one day while doing her homework. Jake, our family cat had jumped up on the table and decided to take a nap on top of Jennifer's book bag.... and so begins our story:

The fine red cat sits on a hat, staring. What does the fine red cat that sits on a hat see? Why, the fine red cat that sits on a hat sees me, of course.

Can you really tell me what a cat can see? Does he see what you see? Who really knows what a cat can see. I know what my cat sees.

He sees me.

It was an adorable story, to which I added several drawings and bound into a homemade book. The response to the book was so great that we were encouraged to see if we could find a publisher. After a year of searching, Greene Bark Press contacted us and said that they were interested in the project.

Then, in September of 1993, after almost a year and hard work and effort, The Fine Red Cat began to arrive at bookstores around the country.

The book signings were a lot of fun, too. This is a picture of Jennifer and I at a book reading and signing in the Borders Book Shop in Ann Arbor, in November of 1993
