The original intent was not to distribute code, but to share ideas. As it so happens, many people have been able to successfully port these scripts to their servers around the world. But customizing is "not" a 30 minute process! We do our best to write simple and portable code, but what you see is what you get. Better documentation and better code will come in time, but we both have "real" jobs and part-time school, so be patient.
