Map: The Lost Temple
View Bracket
TillerMaN and Crazy_Jim_PA, after waiting patiently for the Official to show up, decided to go random on map. Lost Temple emerged from the draw, and both players decided to choose races beforehand. Tillerman chose Zerg, and Jim chose Protoss. Tillerman started at bottom left, and Jim at top right.
Tillerman immediately began with a fast expansion, building a hatchery by his close expansion rather than going double-hatch in his main base. Jim began with a conservative 2-gateway build. Tiller, after building a modest number of zerglings, quickly began harvesting gas and upgrading to lair. Jim started a forge and cy core, and began climbing to reavers and templars. He pumped out one dragoon to dispatch the two overlords floating above his base. Jim then sends his nine zealots towards Tillerman's base, but retreats after seeing his zerglings. Unfortunately, this was his last chance to break through Tiller's defenses and win the game, as Tiller was well on his way to Spire and the resulting mute attacks. Tiller, with two bases, is able to quickly pop out five mutalisks, which he brings to attack Jim's base. Jim merges two templars just in time to save his expansion, but by now Tiller has massed a fleet of mutalisks, and even the archon is no match. Jim tries to sneak a shuttle with a reaver past Tillerman, but passes by a wary mute on the way over. Tiller quickly burrows his peons to escape the reaver drop, and destroys the reaver and shuttle, losing only a few zerglings in the process.
Jim then mounts a last-ditch attack with his remaining zealots and templars, but again Tiller catches them on the way, and after dispatching with the temps, quietly hides behind Jim's ledge and goes to Guardian. Jim is able to pull off a few psi-storms, but Tiller's air superiority is unsurmountable at this point and he decimates the remainders of Jim's forces. -GX-Kenn
