WELCOME TO TECHLAND

Welcome to the Techland WWW site.

Our English pages are currently under construction, in preparation for the launch of a demo version of Crime Cities.

We would like to thank you for your continued interest in Techland products, and have included below a few presents which we are sure many fans of computer gaming will be delighted with.

Techland MiniGL Crime Cities Drivers

During the development of Crime Cities, it was decided that when it came to 3D hardware support, we wanted to provide our customers with maximum compatibility and features.
We had already decided to use a subset of programming codes based upon the excellent OpenGL™ API.

The below drivers are some of the results of our endevours. Typically these drivers retain some compatibility with OpenGL™, and quite often function very well with computer games designed for use with OpenGL™ such as our own Crime Cities™.

These drivers were developed for use with Crime Cities™, and thus include additional instructions which currently are not present within other MiniGL drivers, but are included within the full OpenGL™ v1.1 ICD (Installable Client Driver) specification.
Additional features which may not be present might include such things as realtime lighting, fog etc. This heavily depends on the 3D specifications for your 2D/3D or 3D add-on graphics card.

Performance claims are always subjective, but we feel all the following drivers can happily stand-up and be accounted for.

These drivers are not sanctioned in any way by Silicon Graphics Inc, and were designed purely for compatibility with Techland products.

These drivers have not been submitted for compatibility with Microsoft at their compatibility labs, and should be considered as beta software, and whilst every effort has been made to ensure that they are of the highest quality, they may contain bugs that are harmful to your computer system.

Additional Drivers

A number of additional Techland drivers will be packaged with the demo version of Crime Cities, available in a few weeks.
These dirvers will enable special support for the following:-

OpenGL > D3D Bridge
This driver provides support for 3D accelerator cards that do not currently provide adequate support for OpenGL API based games, but do have the power to play them, if only ........

Examples include cards based upon the following chipsets: ATI Rage Pro, I740, Matrox G200 and MPact 2 and Oak Technologies Warp5.

This driver will provide support until such time that dedicated OpenGL ICD, MCD or even MiniGL drivers are available.

3Dfx MiniGL
This driver will provide specialist "OpenGL like" support for 3Dfx via their Glide API. It has been optimised with Crime Cities in mind, rather than for competitors' products. This driver resolves some problems we discovered with the Official Quake MiniGL driver that caused errors with Crime Cities, and includes some additional 3D functions for lighting and fog. This is not intended to be a full ICD driver for 3Dfx, but is great for Crime Cities, and for futher development purposes until such ICD drivers exist.

Compatibility and Defined Functions

We understand that many people, gamer's and programmers alike, would like to know more technical information about our drivers, and their capabilities.

With that in mind, this link to our driver information page should provide adequate documentation for most people. Should you require more information regarding our drivers, or would like to distribute in any way, please contact us with the following email address.
