The Omega Female

Through the cave to the sea

This is the trip. This is the best part
of the trip...
--Jim Morrison

When the world says left, my body moves right. I can't help it. I was born with the buck-against-authority gene.

But I'm functional. I mean, I'm not some lurker in the shadows of the station shouting out prophecies of doom. I'm married, I've got kids...

Oh, you say: she's a mom. No, damnit, I'm a transcendent woman, I'm an artist and a lover and a mother... I'm-- I'm an Omega Female!

Marilyn Monroe was an omega woman. Yeah, Marilyn. So was Marie Curie, Sappho, Aphra Behn, Lucille Ball, Yoko Ono, Charolette Bronte and Zelda Fitzgerald. I like the word omega because it's got my name in it. I also like the meaning: an ending; a 'coming together'. The paradox in perfect balance.

The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function.
--F. Scott Fitzgerald "The Crack-Up"

So come explore my pages with musings and links on music, books, art, physics, love (heart of darkness, heart of light), parenting, spirituality, and yes...Star Trek.

You won't need Dramamine, just open your kaleidescope eyes, open your mind, open your heart and let's get started.

So I knelt there at the delta
at the alpha and the omega
I knelt there
like one who believes
And like a blessing come from heaven
for something like a second
I was cured, and my heart
was at ease
--Leonard Cohen "Light as the Breeze"

I am also webgoddess to (or is it slave of?) Acorn Mush: A Creative Forum & The Germ: the Pre-Raphaelite Vision.

The Omega Female pages began in 1994, shortly after I was nicknamed the Omega Female on Strek-L.  Now I am working on The Germ: the Pre-Raphaelite Vision, which includes their influence on the Bloomsbury decorative arts Omega Workshops.
