I am a postdoctoral Research Fellow at Sidney Sussex College in the University of Cambridge. My research is on stochastic networks; that's to do with mathematical problems in communications networks. If you're interested, you can get a list of my research publications with abstracts. You can even download some of them, including my Ph.D. dissertation, entitled Resource Pooling in Stochastic Networks.

I'm giving a lecture course entitled Large Deviations with Applications this term. Before you ask, large deviations is about the study of rare events. (But presumably very important ones, or we wouldn't be studying them!) You can read the course schedule if you want.

I am the author and maintainer of The WWW backgammon page.

I have written a program called analog to analyse the logs from your WWW server. Have a look at the statistics from this server, or the statistics from my pages.

I sing in the Cambridge University Musical Society chorus and the Portfolio Singers.

My Erdös number is 4.
