NBA.commentator Vaughn responds: 6/9

What's all the fuss about Michael Jordan? After all, the guy who hit the shot that won the 1997 NBA Finals for the Bulls is Steve Kerr. OK, so Jordan passed it to him, but Kerr ensured that he'd be featured in at least one video highlight of the Bulls' dynasty. Truth is, Kerr has been a critical component of the last two championship teams, thanks to his unparalleled shooting accuracy. Kerr, the most accurate three-point shooter in NBA history, hit 44 percent of his attempts from downtown this year, and has consistently come off the Bulls' bench to provide instant offensive firepower.

Since accuracy is just as important in reporting as in basketball, we think we've found a natural NBA.commentator in Kerr, who filed his latest report on the eve of Game 4 of the NBA Finals, and continued to add some humor to the proceedings. Steve Kerr

Chicago guard Steve Kerr answered you latest questions as an "NBA.commmentator."

I think you are the best three-point shooter in the NBA. Can you get back your rhythm in Game 4?
-- Patrick Noonan, Stevens Point, Wisconsin

Kerr:"I've had some good shots and some good looks at the basket. I'm not getting a lot of shots, I'm taking four or five shots a game, but I don't feel like I've shot poorly. I'm not hot, obviously, but I'm just going to keep playing. I'm not going to make any adjustments."

How hard is it to defend John Stockton?
-- Henry Chiu, Hong Kong

Kerr: "Obviously, you want to take him out of his comfort zone because he's so good when he gets into his rhythm. He and (Karl) Malone are so good when they're executing and you want to just disrupt them a little bit, and we did that in the last game, but it's a lot easier said than done."

Which team benefits the most from the two days off after Game 3?
-- Sandy Smith, Dundee, Illinois

Kerr:"It was great to have an extra day of practice today. When you go every other day, you really can't get much done in the middle day. We had kind of a day off yesterday, and got a good practice in today, so I would expect both teams to play pretty well tomorrow."

How do you expect the Jazz will play in Game 4?
-- Nathan Canales, Caguas, Puerto Rico

Kerr: "I would expect them right away to come out with a ton of energy and really get after us early. Any team that loses badly like that, especially in the playoffs, is going to be embarrassed. They're going to come out, I'm sure, on fire tomorrow night (in Game 4). They'll play as well as they've ever played and we've got to be ready for that energy."

Do you think the Bulls can win the series in Chicago?
-- Mauro Bosio, Cusano Milanino, Milano, Italy

Kerr: "Phil reminded us that there have plenty of teams in past playoff history that have blown the other team out only to lose the series. He mentioned the Lakers, the Celtics and his own Knick team back in the '70s. It happens all the time, really. The fact is, the series is only two games to one regardless of the score of the last game.

"Obviously, we want to take care of things the easiest way you can and that would be to win the next two games here. If we mess around and they play well and beat us here, all of the sudden, the whole tone of the series changes and the pressure's on us again. So we'd like to take care of things here."

Now that Larry Bird has turned to coaching and been very successful with it, do you think Michael Jordan would consider it?
-- Barbara Kerecz, Bridgeport, Connecticut

Kerr: "No, Michael's always said that he would hate coaching and I don't see him doing that."

Do you think Dennis Rodman is a distraction to your team? Do you get along with him?
-- Nicole Malia Hugus, Danville, California

Kerr: "It's starting to rub off on other guys; Jud Buechler didn't even show up today, so it's getting out of hand. Of course, his wife is having a baby but, besides that, his excuse was not very solid. (laughs)

"Dennis is a pretty good guy, although I wish he would be a little more conscientious at times. He's a good guy and he's fun to have around, that's for sure. There's a circus going on around him all the time and it's kind of entertaining for those of us in the background to sit and watch."
