Offenbach Kickers 0-4 Arsenal

Adams, Seaman and Keown
England's heroes return for Arsenal
ARSENAL played the last match of their pre-season programme in Germany last night, when Arsene Wenger lead the team to a 4-0 victory against minor side Offenbach Kickers.

Ray Parlour opened the scoring after 22 minute with in-form Nicolas Anelka making it two five minutes later. Anelka grabbed his second on 60 minutes and Paolo Vernazza rounded off a comfortable win with 16 minutes left. The Arsenal manager included England trio Tony Adams, Martin Keown and David Seaman in his line-up for the first time since the World Cup finals in France. Our Dutch and French internationals will play their first post World Cup match in Sunday's Charity Shield against Manchester United.

Patrick Vieira, Emmanuel Petit, Marc Overmars and Dennis Bergkamp all returned to pre season training, but did not join Wenger and the rest of the squad in Germany. The Offenback fixture marked the second game of the team's ten-day trip to Germany, which has primarily been used for intensive training purposes.

The first game was played on Friday night, when an Arsenal side completed a comfortable 4-0 victory over Kooperation Eisbachtal. Luis Boa Morte impressed with a hat-trick and Isaiah Rankin added the fourth. Before departing for Germany, Wenger said: "The results of these games are not so important compared to avoiding injuries and getting players fit for the start of the new season. It's a shame we couldn't have the whole squad together and the Charity Shield will be our only match with everyone involved before the season starts. But it is important that the World Cup players were properly rested."
