Go there to learn the down and dirty of what the MaraMyth crew has been doing since you last saw them. According to the very Marathon-ish page, you'll be seeing some new stuff really soon. They promise.

  • More World War II, just for you

As great as World War II: Recon is, you can always get more, right? Well, the more the merrier, and prepare to be merry: OMAG and Ailil have converted Going to Town to the good ol' World War II style. This shows World War II in a different light: It's not a map, it's a variant. Read these words Ailil wrote down, I think they might be important.

Ailil and OMAG in conjunction with and sanctioned by Santa's Head and Clan Plaid would like to announce the first 3rd party map available for World War II: Urban Warfare.

Urban Warfare is a conversion of the Bungie made map Going to Town. Just like WW2:Recon, WW2:Urban Warfare sports an elimination, patrol, 2-team, and 4-team variant... but to make war a bit more hellish you have a village to manuever through and use as cover.

WW2:Urban Warfare can be downloaded at OMAG's map archive site at http://www.omaguinness.com/urban_warfare.htm, Myth Townhall or at Clan Plaid's Hotline Server.

That's what I'm talkin' about. Raisin Barn's "Urban Warfare" and Recon's "Modern Adaptation", both things said to change Myth, have combined to form one sort of... mega-change... Bah, I'm rambling like Bob Dole, I'll just leave you with this.

  • YAWW2T - Break a Leg

Despite World War II mania still sweeping bungie.net, it's still a bit surprising that not one, not two, but three WW2 tourneys have popped up. Examine the details of the latest, from Mac Gamer's Ledge.

Mac Gamer's Ledge is proud to announce a Myth II: Soulblighter tournament entitled "Break a Leg". The single player tournament will be played exclusively on the popular map WWII: Recon Patrol. The tournament will be played using Bungie Software's free multiplayer server, bungie.net. Break a Leg will begin with 512 players and after seven rounds of weekend play will end with four players being proclaimed tournament champions. Over $1,700 in prizes will be given to all players who advance to the quarter-final round or later.

The four tournament champions will receive an Intensor Gaming Chair, with integrated sound systems for a fully emersive gaming experience. There's no better way to enhance the explosions and rocket blasts of WWII: Recon Patrol than to play with the Intensor Gaming Chair. Other prizes include Myth II: Soulblighter Soundtracks and 20% off coupons to the Bungie Store.

"I believe blind Recon Patrol is the heart and soul of WWII, bringing anticipation and adaptation of tactics into the heart of every game played on it," said Craig Goodman, best known as Santa's Head and the creator of WWII: Recon. "The player who wins this tournament is a player who has demonstrated the skills I most respect, and has truely earned the respect of our entire community."

Break a Leg will be chronicled with stories based on actual tournament matches written by talented writers and journalists from around the world. In addition, films of all 381 tournament games will be made available through the Break a Leg web site.

This tournament is open to all registered bungie.net players, both Mac and PC users alike. All prizes can be used with both operating systems. Registration will begin on Monday, April 26 12:01 am EDT from the Break a Leg web site. Only the first 512 players to register with a valid bungie.net login will be allowed to participate in the tournament.

For more information about the tournament, visit the http://www.macledge.com/breakaleg/Break a Leg web site.

Well, this looks to be a collossal tournament, and MGL already has the blessing of Clan Plaid and Bungie. But the most challenging part of these tournaments could be picking which one(s) to play in. So pick the tournament of your choice and get ready for ratta-tat-tattin' WW2 action. Move 'em out!
