We're always looking for people to accompany us on these fun days out. Unlike picketers in other countries, we do not usually post our picket dates in advance (it keeps the scienos on their toes), but get in touch with one of us and you might find out when to come along.
These pages are published in the public interest in order to provide information about the organisation variously known (among other things) as "The Church Of Scientology" or the "Hubbard Dianetics Foundation". I make no apology for the fact that the tone of these pages is, overall, critical: in the time that I have been learning about this organisation, I have found little or no evidence of anything about it that is positive or laudable.
You can be assured that, as and when verifiable evidence of "Good Works" by the "Church" of Scientology does emerge, I will be most happy to document it here: look, I've even got a link set up especially for Scientology's Good Works! Email me if you know of any. Needless to say, unverifiable Big Wins will not qualify.
The Scientology organisations have a well-earned reputation for attacking those who criticise them, and for this reason these pages steer clear of much of the more controversial aspects of the fight against Scientology. For example, you won't find any copies of the Fishman Affidavit, containing verbatim transcripts of the supposedly secret Scientology Upper Levels, which the "Church" claim as trade secrets (what? a religion with trade secrets??). What you will find are facts, personal experiences of people who have been affected by Scientology, and the odd bit of opinion thrown in.
You may notice that throughout these pages, I refer to the "Church" of Scientology, with the word "Church" in inverted commas. I do not consider Scientology's claim to being a religion to be a valid one, nor is it recognised in the UK as one, so I do not feel that is is correct to refer to it as a Church when it is not.
If you have something you want to tell the world about Scientology, your best bet is to head for the alt.religion.scientology newsgroup: the existence of this group is a constant thorn in the side of Scientology, as it provides an excellent forum where the things Scientology does not want you to know can be discussed. Several illegal attempts have been made to remove the newsgroup, and someone is regularly forging cancels of posts containing material the "Church" claims as copyrighted or trade secrets.
If there is anything you find, in reading these pages, that you consider to be incorrect or unfair, please feel free to mail me at stevea@castlsys.demon.co.uk. I cannot guarantee that I will act on your suggestions, but I will certainly study your comments carefully.

In HCO Bulletin of 5th November 1967, "Critics of Scientology", L. Ron Hubbard had this to say:-
"And we have this technical fact - those who oppose us have crimes to hide. It's perhaps merely lucky that this is true. But it is true. And we handle opposition well only when we use it...Never discuss Scientology with the critic. Just discuss his or her crimes, known and unknown. And act completely confident that those crimes exist. Because they do."
That is the tenor of Scientology's attitude to the rest of the world: anyone who dares to stand against them is a criminal. Are you happy that an organisation with views such as this is allowed free rein with people's minds?
Thank you for reading these pages: I sincerely hope that you have gained some insight into the truth behind the "Church" of Scientology, and that it can be of some benefit to you. If your appetite for information has been whetted, read alt.religion.scientology and the many web pages dealing with the topic.
