The Show

2 Stupid Dogs marked a return to the type of cartoons Hanna-Barbera specialized in making during the early days of the studio – short six-to-seven minute delights which emphasize strong posing, sharp timing, simple backgrounds, and character-driven humor. The title duo are a lumbering sheepdog known only as The Big Dog, and his excitable dachshund pal, The Little Dog. They get ensnared in the most commonplace sorts of situations but stupidity usually leads to calamitous results, and often involves loud yelling from a burly human fellow called Hollywood. The show was created by cartoonist Donovan Cook and premiered in 1993. The 39 episodes produced aired with the back-up series Super Secret Squirrel.
