CUPERTINO, California--April 3, 1995--Apple Computer Inc.'s Education Division announced today that most of the Apple Education Series products are now configured with the new education personal computers also announced today. The Apple Education Series is a suite of products and programs that help educators effectively use and integrate technology into their learning environments. Many of these products, which include software, teaching materials and, in some cases, staff development, now feature either the new Power Macintosh 5200/75 LC, the premier education system based on Power Macintosh Technology, or the new Macintosh LC 580, a versatile all-in-one computer.

The products in the Apple Education Series that will now feature the new education personal computers include:

TO TOP Early Childhood Connections

A developmentally appropriate learning program designed to introduce early number and language concepts, problem-solving, music and creative arts to children ages three through five. The program combines hardware, software, books, interactive CDs, and audio CDs. This bundle will now include the Macintosh LC 580. Prices start at $1,749.

TO TOP Early Language Connections

A comprehensive language arts program, designed to provide a balanced reading, writing, listening, and speaking curriculum for kindergarten through second grade. The package combines hardware, software, books and audio tapes. This bundle will now include the Macintosh LC 580. Prices start at $1,939.

TO TOP Spanish Language Connections

A comprehensive language arts program, designed to provide a balanced reading, writing, listening and speaking curriculum for students in bilingual Spanish and language immersion programs in kindergarten through second grade. The package combines hardware, software, books, interactive CDs and audio tapes. This bundle will now include the Macintosh LC 580. Prices start at $2,039.

TO TOP Math Bundle: Grades 5-8

This bundle features a new set of learning materials that make learning math enjoyable for grades 5-8. Each application supports standards set by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. This bundle will now include the Power Macintosh 5200/75 LC. Prices start at $1,999.

TO TOP Elementary and Secondary Reference Bundles

The reference tools included in these bundles allow educators to help students--in elementary through high school grades--access vast amounts of information in a variety of ways, taking advantage of multimedia capabilities such as video, sound, graphics, and animation. The package combines hardware, resource software, multimedia learning tools, and multimedia authoring tools. The bundles will now offer the Macintosh LC 580 or the Power Macintosh 5200/75 LC. Prices start at $1,549.

TO TOP Business Education Bundle

Students learn about business concepts and practical business education applications through the use of technology. Software titles allow students to focus on such business tasks as information processing, access and management; accounting; cooperative learning; and project management. The bundle combines hardware, software and textbooks. This bundle will now include the Power Macintosh 5200/75 LC. Prices start at $1,999.

TO TOP High School Biology Bundle

Designed to offer educators a supplemental learning tool that will help promote conceptual understanding by integrating hands-on lab activities with multimedia computer simulations, data collection, graphing, modeling, presentations and analysis. The bundle combines hardware, software, probeware, curriculum materials and training. This bundle will now include the Power Macintosh 5200/75 LC for the student station and the Power Macintosh 5200/75 LC (AV configuration) for the teacher station. Prices start at $2,409.

TO TOP Teacher Solution Bundle

Designed to offer teachers the technological tools to create memos, schedules, attendance reports, lesson plans, tests, parent correspondence, handouts and classroom presentations, so they can have more time to spend with students. The bundle combines hardware and software. This bundle will now offer the Macintosh LC 580 or the Power Macintosh 5200/75 LC (AV configuration). Prices start at $1,549.

Other Apple Education Series products, the Communications Bundle, and the Collaborative Learning Product, are not affected by the platform change because they are already bundled with PowerPC, RISC-based Apple Workgroup Servers.
