Current Hollywood favorite Will Smith (Wild Wild West, Men In Black) comes together with the excellent Gene Hackman (The French Connection) and Jon Voight (Coming Home) in this excellent technical thriller directed by Tony Scott and written by David Marconi.

The movie begins when Attorney Robert Clayton Dean (Will Smith) without his knowledge is passed a video that puts a top official at the NSA (Voight) at the scene of a political related murder. The tape becomes the bane of Dean's live as he is targeted by a group of skilled NSA surveillance operatives who go after him via a number of high-tech means.

The performances of Smith, Hackman (Not in it enough) and Voight are great and help the story move along. The direction by Tony Scott is fast moving and the way he blends in all of the technological bits and pieces is great. I have to compare this movie to The Net because there is so much emphasis put onto computers, satellites and phone taps, while The Net was both unrealistic and boring, Enemy Of The State should be the movie all of you computer buffs check out as it manages to be fast paced with great chase scenes and realistic with its computer related surveillance experts.

How It Grades
Picture Quality: A-
Sound: A-
Special Features: C+
Movie Overall: B+
DVD Overall: B-

Surprisingly for a Disney related DVD, the picture quality is actually quite good. Enemy Of The State has a large range of scenes that range from dark to light. Unfortunately it is yet again a Non-Anamorphic title from Disney which stops it from getting the A grade. Sound is excellent as with most DVD titles. The sound is deep and rich, dialogue is clear and the music is also great.

Overall the movie is great entertainment for a wide range of people (Especially those who love gadgets). The lack of good extras is a little disappointing but It's nice to see any on a Disney release and the image quality is great for a Non-Anamorphic title.
