Monique Brumby sings for the race
Monday 30 December, 1996 (9:15pm AEDT)

Young Tasmanian singer, Monique Brumby performed today at the Sydney-to-Hobart Summer Festival … just across the road from where she used to busk before she received a major record deal with Sony.

Twenty-two year-old Brumby was born in Devonport and grew up in Hobart. A few years ago she moved to Melbourne to further her career.

Her two singles, "Fall for You" and the latest, "Mary" have both done well on the national charts.

Monique dropped by the internet site HQ after her performance today to tell Reporter, Tracey Annear what it’s like to be singing at the festival, rather than a spectator.
