Materials:  Small amount of yarn in pickle green, Small amount of dark crochet thread for hat.

Rnd 1:  Ch 2, work 6 sc in 2nd ch form hook, Rnd 2:  2 sc in each st around (12 sc).  Rnd 3:  work in even sc around with the addition of 4- hdc clusters spaced unevenly  as desired around for pickle bumps. When piece is desired length lightly stuff and decrease until hole closes.

Hat.  with dark crochet thread and size 6 crochet hook.  Ch 2, work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, Rnd 2:  2 sc in each st around (12 sc)  Rnd 3: *sc in sc, 2 sc in next* repeat around.  Fasten off.

Optional:  Add crushed pickling spice to stuffing for a pickle smell.

The Amish create dolls without faces for their children to play with.  This is because they believe that we are created in God's image and it would be blasphemy to put God's image on a doll.  Besides, with a little imagination one can see the expression on the face.

Materials: Small amounts crochet cotton, off white, dark, med, and black; size 6 crochet hook. Small amount of fiberfill tapestry needle

STITCHES USED: Ch, sl st, sc, hdc.

NOTE: Do not join rnds unless otherwise stated. Mark beginning of each md.

Rnd1:With off white, ch2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 Sc made) pull tail to tighten hole. Rnd 2: 2 Sc in each at around. (12 sts) Rnd 3: (2 sc in next St, sc in next st) around. (18 sts)

Rnds 4-6: Sc in each st around. Rnd 7: (Sc next 2 sts tog, sc in next St) around. (12 sts)Stuff firmly with fiberfill. Rnd 8: (Sc next 2 sts tog) around, Join with sl St in first Sc. Fasten off.(6 sts) use tails as part of stuffing.

Dress

Rnd 1: Join dark with sc in last st made on Head, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first sc. (6 sc made) Rnd 2: (Ch 2, hdc) in first st, 2 hdc in each St around, join with sl st in top of ch 2. (12 sts) Rnd 3: (Ch 2, hdc) in first st, hdc in next St, (2 hdc in next St, hdc in next St) around, Join. (18 sts)

Rnds 4-5: Ch 2, hdc in each St around, join. Rnd 6: (Ch 2, hdc) in first St, hdc in next st, (2 hdc in next st, hdc in next st) around, join. (27 sts) Rnds 7-12: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join. At end of last rnd, fasten off.  Leave long tail for sewing.

Sleeve  and hand (make 2) these are flat.

NOTE: Ch 1 counts as first st Row 1: With dark, ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook, turn. (6 sc made) Rows 2-3: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. Row 4: Sc first 2 sts tog, sc in next 2 sts, sc last 2 sts tog, turn. (4 sts) Row 5: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Row 6: (Sc next 2 sts tog) 2 times, turn. (2 sts) Rows 7-9: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. At end of last row, fasten off. (2 sts)

Hand  Join  off white with sl st in last st made on row 9 of sleeve, sc in same at as sl st, (sc, sl st) in last at. Fasten off.

Apron:  With medium color.  Ch 15, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each sc across.  Row 2:  ch 2, *hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st* repeat *to* across.  Ch 2 turn.  Row 3-7:  work even in hdc ch 2 turn on last row fasten off.

Drape around Neck  Row 1 is top.  Hot glue to body.  Hot glue arms on at shoulders.

Bonnet

Rnd 1: With black, ch 3, sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 2, ( counts as1st hdc), 11 hdc in ring, join with sl st in top of ch 2.  (12 hdc made).Rnd 2: (Ch2, hdc) in first st, 2 hdc in each st around, join. (24 sts)

Rnd 3: (ch2,hdc) in first st hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st, (hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st) around, join. (36) Rnd 4: Ch 2, hdc in each St around, join.

Rnd 5: (Sc next 2 sts tog) around, join. (18) Row 6: Working in rows, for brim, ch 1, sc in next 16 sts, turn leaving remaining sts un-worked. Rows 7-10: Ch 1, sc in each at across, turn. At end of last row, fasten off.

For first tie, join black with sl st in first st on row 6, ch 20, sl st in each ch across, sl st into first sl st. Fasten off. For second tie, join black with sl st in last st on row 6 ,ch20 ,sl st in each ch across, sl at into first sl st. Fasten off.

Place Bonnet on Head and tie in front.

Leg and shoe make 2 Row 1: With black, ch 5, sc in second ch from hook, sc in each ch across, turn. (4 Sc made) Row 2: Sc next 2 sts tog, sc in next 2 sts, turn. (3 sts) Rows 3-5: Ch1, sc across, turn. At end of last row, fasten off. (3 sts)  Put leg under skirt of dress and sew skirt bottom together and across legs. Tie off and weave in ends.

Materials: 4-ply yarn small amount of white and black. Yarn size hook, F,G, or H.

Pin:   Rnd 1:  With White, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. =6sc  Rnd 2:  2 sc in each st around =12 sc.  Rnd 3-5:  Sc in each sc around.  Stuff piece lightly.

Rnd 6:  Decrease around. = 6 sc.  Rnd 7:  2 sc in each sc around =12 sc. Rnd 8:  (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around:  =16 sc. Rnds 9-13: sc around, Stuff lightly.

Rnd 14-15:  Decrease around: =4 sc.  Rnd 16 (skip next sc, sl st in next sc) twice; finish off.

Ball: With black  Rnd 1:  With White, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. =6sc  Rnd 2:  2 sc in each st around =12 sc.  Rnd 3-5:  Sc in each sc around.  Stuff piece lightly.

Rnd 6:  Decrease around. = 6 sc.  Continue to decrease until hole closes. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Finishing Glue ribbon around pin neck. Glue ball to pin and glue magnet onto back.

Materials: Small amount of White and Red Luster Sheen, 5 Hook. Small amount of stuffing, small rose for neck. Magnet

Note: May use Crochet Thread 10, 7 hook, but will be smaller.

Bodice color may be color of choice.

Head:

Rnd l: Ch 2, 7 sc in 2n ch from hook, do not join. Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around-(14sc)

Rnd 3-7: Sc around. Rnd 8: (Skip l sc, sc) around. (7 sc), stuff head.

Rnd 9: Sc around   Rnd l0: Attach Red (or color of choice) 2 sc around. (14 sc)

Bodice:

Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as lst dc, now and throughout), dc in same st, 2 dc in next ch *ch 1, (dc, ch 1) 3 times in next ch, (dc, ch l) twice in next ch, (dc, ch l) three times in next sc*, 2 dc in each of next 4 chs, repeat fro * to * once, 2 dc in each of last 2 ch; join with slip st to first dc: 32 dc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in next 3 dc, ch l, skip next 9 ch l spaces (armhole), sc in next 8 dc ch l, skip next 9 ch l sps (armhole), sc in last 4 dc' Join with slip st in lst sc leaving long end for closing bodice.

Wings:

Rnd l. With right side facing and working in free loop of ch l and in skipped ch l sps of armhole, join white with sc in ch l at underarm; ch 3, sc around post of next dc, ch 3, (sc in next ch l sp, ch 3) 9 times, sc around post of next dc, ch l, dc in first sc to form last sp: 12 spaces.

Rnd 2 and 3: Sc in same sp, (ch 3, sc in next ch 3 sp) around, ch l, dc in first sc to form last sp. Cluster : *YO, insert hook in st indicated, YO and pull up loop,   YO, and draw through 2 loops on hook; repeat from * once more and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

Rnd 4: Sc in same sp, ch 3, work Cluster in third ch from hook, * sc in next ch 3 sp, ch 3, work Cluster in third ch from hook; repeat from * around: join with slip st to first sc, finish off, weave in end.

Repeat for second Wing.

Halo: With MC, ch 17,join. Ch l, hdc, ch 1, sc, ch l, hdc around, fasten off.

Finishing: Close bottom of bodice. Attach Halo to back of head. Glue rose to base of neck. Glue Magnet to back of bodice.
