ObNothingAtAllToDoWithWrestling: Boxing from the beautiful Condado Plaza Hotel and Casino acts as the lead-in to lucha this week, replacing Mexican soccer. Remember, when you are in San Juan, remember Condado Plaza for all of your accomodation and gambling needs. MATCH 1: MARTHA VILLALOBOS (capt), CARLA? & SOMEBODY ELSE vs. XOCHITL HAMADA (capt), THE UNMASKED TECNICA & THE MASKED TECNICA I can only guess at the names of the partners, since only the captains were mentioned. Unmasked wears a pink and black bodysuit. The other tecnica also wears pink and black, and wears a mask of similar colours. For the rudas, Carla? wears camouflauge pants and has a spiderweb on her face. Somebody Else dresses similarly to Martha, and is equally as unattractive. The rudas attack as the bell wins, and they control the first few minutes. Hamada is tossed around by her hair. Hamada hip tosses one of the rudas on the outside. Bad opening fall, with the end coming when Martha hits a splash from the second rope on Hamada. Prior to this, Martha lit a smoke bomb in Hamada's face. The rudas have a series of 3 on 1 attacks to start the second fall, until Hamada slaps all of the rudas from the ring. Hamada comes off the second rope for a back elbow on Martha, who was on the outside. The remaining tecnicas finish this fall with a pair of dropkicks from the top. The final fall starts with some really slow back and forth action. A bit of comedy as the tecnicas get the rudas clotheslining and splashing each other. The rudas recover and do a few seconds of clubberin'. All the rudas miss dropkicks, and the tecnicas get a brief situation when they have the rudas in the star. After a series of 2 counts, the rudas take the fall after Martha avalanches all 3 tecnicas, and then all 3 rudas hit splashes from the second rope. Pretty bad match, although it would be very difficult for the tecnicas to do much when paired with Villalobos. MATCH 2: LOS PAYASOS vs. SUPER MUNECO, MASCARA SAGRADA Jr & HIJO DE SOLITARIO (I think) Ouch. This was worse than the previous match. Thankfully, Global was showing that cartoon where the coyote tries to steal the sheep, but is always foiled. I am equally thankful that they only showed one fall. The whole excerpt seemed to consist of the Payasos tearing at Muneco's mask. The bout finally ends when the blue-haired clown hits a fisherman suplex on Sagrada, and when they all gain a submission on Muneco. MATCH 3: HECTOR GARZA (capt), LATIN LOVER & HEAVY METAL vs. CRAZZY 33, KILLER (w/ Miss Janet) & JERRY ESTRADA (capt) 33 starts off missing a dropkick on Lover, but Latin takes time to dance. 33 slaps him, but is eventually drop kicked off the apron. Killer then comes in and takes over on Metal. The two trade slaps, but Metal eventually knocks the rudo from the ring with a spin kick. Estrada plants Garza with a reverse atomic drop. Hector flapjacks Jerry to the mat, and Jerry sells it as if he was about to cry. Quickly afterwards, a Frankenmetal pins Killer. Latin then superkicks Crazzy, and slaps on a scorpion deathlock to win the first fall. Lover starts the second fall with a superkick on Estrada. Killer comes into hold onto Lover, so Jerry can do a high knee. Of course, Lover moves, but Killer smartly catches Jerry. Lover one-ups him in the intelligence department, by dropkicking Estrada to the floor. Lover then knocks Killer outside, and slaps Estrada. Jerry thinks it was Killer that hit him, and the rudos tease a break-up. Miss Janet makes peace. Garza monkeyflips Crazzy, and then jumps off the top rope to hit an armdrag that sends 33 from the ring. Estrada runs in to level Hector, and the rudos team up to assault Garza. That is followed with a 2 on 1 on Metal. Estrada and Metal go at it in the ring, while all the others fight outside. Garza and Lover get posted. Miss Janet gets some kicks in. Hector returns to the ring, where Estrada hits a back body drop, and then gets a submission. A 4 on 1 starts the third fall. This is until Estrada hits Killer and Lover bails out. The other tecnicos come in and clean house. Estrada bites Jerry, and then drives his head to the mat. Light juice. Lover gives Crazzy several kicks to the posterior. Killer tries to a fake a foul after a fist to the gut, but even though both referees here (Chocolate and Tirantes) are both pro-rudo, neither signals for the DQ. (First time I recall both referees being rudos). Crazzy and Metal trade slaps. Spinning backbreaker on 33. Estrada suplexes Garza to the outside. Metal and 33 also end up on the floor. Killer clotheslines Lover over the top. In the ring, Garza gains a submission on Estrada with a hold that looked like a shoulderbreaker in progress. At the end, El Picudo ran in, but did not attack, save for a few shoves. Latin carried Janet to the back, angering Killer. AAA Notes: We had the NWO, then we had the BWO. Brace yourself. Diesel and Razor Ramon have formed the "Mexican World Order". They now sport MWO shirts in the same design as the NWO. They show highlights of them as Razor gives a piledriver that lays out Canek. They are now accompanied by some nut that obviously tries to look like Syxx, but ends up looking more like an even geekier version of Todd Pettengill. Highlights of Luxor and Discovery getting pins on Avismo Negro and Mosco de la Merced. They mention that MiniDust, Minikind, MiniVader and Mascarita Jr all worked a RAW episode back in March. This is, of course, vital information in May. MATCH 4: PIERROTH (w/Mosco de la Merced) vs. PERRO AGUAYO (w/ Perro Jr) (steel cage) Pierroth attacks Jr as he accompanies his father to the ring. Perro was already in the ring, and Mosco holds the door shut. Perro Jr is bloodied after being thrown into the cadge. Sr tries to climb over the top, and Mosco blocks the exit by climbing to the top. Now, both rudos enter the cage, while Tirantes checks over a bloodied Hijo) He gets carried to the back. Now both rudos work over Perro Sr. Mosco is wearing a WWF logo T-Shirt. Perro Jr returns to the ring and climbs in the cage. Father and son clean house. Jr ties Mosco to the cage by the streamers on his mask. They then start unlacing Pierroth's mask. The mask is removed, and the Aguayos try to pry Pierroth's hands from his face. Mosco frees himself, attacks the clan, and returns the mask. Team Perro comess back, and remove both masks. They then escape from the cage. Amazingly, Perro Sr did not bleed in this match. Pierroth covers his face with the trunks that cover his tights. With all 4 putside at the end, Perro Jr hits Mosco with what looks like the janitor's bucket. The rudos do an interview post-match. Pierroth has his face uncovered, and the whole interview is done with Pierroth's back to the camera. MATCH 5: CHIVAS RIYADAS & SUPER MUNECO (capt) vs. KRAKEN (capt), ESPECTRO & LOCO VALENTINO? Kraken wears a green and yellow bodysuit. There are scales on the outfit, and the mask has an ugly fish face on it. Loco wears a white hospital gown covering leopard skin tights, and no mask. I guess the gown is supposed to look like a strait-jacket. One of the goats strts off by ramming HSB in the butt, and then pretending to go after Tirantes. The other goat comes in and bounces around on the canvas. CR1 and Espectro work for a bit, ending with the rudo being tossed from the ring. Muneco tosses Kraken all around the ring. Loco sells in a comedy style after being kicked by CR1. Muneco flips CR2 into a double DDT on Espectro and Kraken. CR1 then comes off the top, to sunset flip CR2 into another double DDT. Muneco pins Loco with a senton, and the goats win with a pair of FrankenChivas. Then one of the Chivas takes time to ram Loco in the posterior. One of the announcers starts making goat sounds as the second fall commences. Loco is pushed from the ring by CR1. Muneco posts Espectro twice. Loco gets monkey flipped over the top by a Chiva, and he then crawls away on his knees. Scarily, I notice one of the ringside fans is wearing a Chivas mask. *shudder* Kraken and Espectro slam a goat. A twisting moonsault pins the one, and Loco rolls up Muneco. All hail the rudos, as they start tearing at the Chivas masks! Muneco also gets his second mask this broadcast destroyed. The rudos control the early portion of the third fall. Espectro nails a goat with a flying elbowdrop. Muneco reverses things. The Chivas starts ramming the rudos. Cue up 5 straight missed sentons. The tecnicos throw the rudos together, and then slap on the star. Kraken is kicked from the ring, and one Chiva backdrops the other onto Kraken. Espectro topes the goat. Loco misses a moonsault, and is forced to submit. Kraken is also counted out, and the victory goes to the tecnicos, 2-1. An interview with the Space Cadets ends the show. Decent, but it started quite slow.
