Everybooody, you've got the right stuff if only you'd quit tearin' up my heart......
Ever since I wrote my little I hate 'N Sync bit, I've gotten lots of mail either praising me
or hate mail along the lines of "you're a stupid whore, die!". Many of the 'N Sync fans who hate me
like to point out that 'N Sync is way better then the BSB, that they didn't copy them, blah, blah, blah.
However I've gotten a few that proclaim that 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys are way different bands.
Totally different bands?
I don't think so.
Regardless of the whole debate over who's the better band or who copied who, you CANNOT deny that Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync are
virtually the same group. They embody all the same traits of the quintessential Boy Band.
In fact no two boy bands share as many similarities as 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys.
Don't believe me? Let's make a list, shall we?
1. Five white boys from Orlando, some relatively good looking, some relatively repulsive.
2. Same manager, same writers, same producers.
3. Same songs. Everybody = I want you back.
4. Nick Carter meet your twin Justin Timberlake.
5. They both spew out that cheesey gay music that the teeny boppers can't get enough of.
So Cheryl, if the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync are so similar why do you hate 'N Sync?

Many of you seem to miss some subtle points in my I hate 'N Sync thing.
Like eventhough I don't like them as a group, I dig a few of their songs. I never said I hated
their music. Its just....them. First of all I only think 2 of the members are cute (though JC can be kinda
gross sometimes, ditto that for Justin, easy on the bleach boy). The rest are pure nastiness.
Lance is an albino woman and Joey is just one nasty gino. Chris? Don't EVEN get me started on him.
Let's put it this way. I find Howie D hot compared to Chris. Yeah, its that bad.
Am I so shallow as to hate 'N Sync just cause they aren't that good looking? Uh yeah.
Looks don't play that big of a deal in other music that I like but when its all about
these boy groups you better believe it makes a difference! Deny it all you want but
looks are the main draw for these types of groups.
Oh another reason I hate 'N Sync? They annoy me. Seen them in concert, saw a couple of their interviews,
and they are GAY. (Not in the homosexual sense there, you should know what I mean.) Sure the BSB can be
pretty gay too but there's just something about them that makes it ok. I can't explain it but its just something.
The Backstreet Boys just possess that extra special something. All the BIG boy groups had it, New Kids, Take That. Oh and
also cause only one ugly member (Howie) and not three (Chris, Lance, Joey).
Another question that I get alot is why I bought 'N Sync's cd and went to their concert if I hate them. Well
you see the hatred only started AFTER I went to the concert. Before I thought they may have potential to
be a new fav boy band. How wrong was I.
Now for the if you give two shits about me and my opinions section. (Somewhat related to the above section)
So what are the songs of 'N Sync that I enjoy? Well....
'Tearin' up my heart' and 'I just wanna be with you' are awesome songs. When I first got the cd and I heard these I was like cool, 'N Sync
has some good tunes, but then it all went downhill. Also love 'I want you back', ok so what if it sounds just like
'Everybody'? Its a good song, and I even like it MORE then 'Everybody'. (Never really liked 'Everybody' for some reason.)
And yes I know 'I want you back' came out before 'Everybody' in Europe so it was in fact the Backstreet Boys who punked those beats for their song.
'N Sync might have a better song but overall Backstreet is the better band. Oh I also like that gay song 'Sailin', I know, brutal, but for some
reason I enjoy it. Everything else on the cd rips.
I don't know if this would suprise a few people or not but the Backstreet Boys
are not my favourite boy band of all time. Don't get me wrong, I love 'em but not the most.
And no its not the New Kids either even though they are the originator of all boy bands.
(And to those 'N Sync fans who always tell me "well BSB copied NKOTB so there", ummm yeah I know.
You didn't get me there, so stop.) So which group is it that hold that special place in my heart for
best boy group of all time?

Oh yes how I LOVE that band. I discovered them after they broke up which was a pity.
Even more of a pity was that they never caught on in North America. They had it all.
WICKED music (still pop but not as cheesey), dance moves that put all others to shame, and
they were all HOT! Ok except for Mark Owen (in my opinion) but hey nothings perfect right?
Ok sure on the music end it was all basically Gary Barlow but they were seriously a really
talented group. They wrote almost all of their own music (from the beginning) and they
choreographed all their own dance moves. You non-North Americans know what I'm talking about.
They were just the bomb, I LOVE THEM!
