HEAVYWEIGHT (Over 200 Pound) Top Ten

1. Igor Vovchanchin (Ukraine) - Ended Francisco Bueno's unbeaten streak with a brutal KO. Out gunned former top dog Mark Kerr to achieve a controversial "no contest". Split decision over Barreto. Beat up Shoji & TKO'd Gary Goodridge. Owns the best record (over 50 NHB fights with only 2 losses) in the over 200 lb. category. Winner of 5 eight man NHB tournaments! A small guy (5' 8", 235) with a big punch.

2. Pedro Rizzo (Brazil) - KO of Kohsaka makes him th 'people's champ'. TKO'd Tre Telligman. Split decision over Mark Coleman. KO'd Tank Abbott. WVC eight man tournament and WVC superfight winner. Undefeated in NHB. Ruas Vale Tudo.

3. Mark Kerr (USA) - Abu Dhabi victory over Barreto proves he can "roll" with the best. Hammered Hugo Duarte. Dispatched Pedro Cesar via submission. Still undefeated with two UFC four man tourneys under his belt. Hammer House.

4. Carlão Barreto (Brazil) - Gave Vovchanchin a tough go. Defeated Pedro Cesar to retain IVC belt. Choked out Hinkle in IVC 8. Eight man Brazilian Vale Tudo tournament winner. Carlson Gracie team.

5. Tom Erikson (USA) "The Big Cat" is back! Finally re-entered the NHB scene with a decision over Gary Goodridge (Pride). The sky's the limit. Undefeated with a KO win over Randleman. Four man Brazilian Vale Tudo tournament champ. RAW Team.

6. Kevin Randleman (USA) - Beat Pete Williams to gain the UFC heavyweight title. His controversial loss to Bas Rutten didn't hurt his reputation. Decisive win over the fading Maurice Smith. His brashness is good for the sport. Hammer House.

7. Enson Inoue (USA) - Defeated Randy Couture by armbar. UFC, Pride and Shooto veteran. Grappling Unlimited.

8. Tsuyoshi Kohsaka (Japan) - The man who whipped Tim Lajcik, Kimo and decisioned Pete Williams. Gave Bas Rutten all he could handle. AMC Sports.

9. Renato Babalu (Brazil) - Advanced in the RINGS tournament with two big wins. Strong Luta Livre combined with formidible punches and kicks. Ruas Vale Tudo.

10. Pete Williams (USA) - Spectacular KO win over Mark Coleman. Super Brawl champion. Lion's Den.

MIDDLEWEIGHT (under 200 Pound) Top Ten

1. (tie) Kazushi Sakuraba (Japan) - Dominated Royler Gracie. Submitted Anthony Macias. First man to make Ebenezer Braga tap out. Outclassed Vitor Belfort. Submitted Carlos Newton and drew Allan Goes. Ultimate Japan heavyweight four man tournament winner. Takada dojo.

1. (tie) Frank Shamrock (USA) - Undisputed UFC middlewieght champion. Extinguished Tito Ortiz's hot streak by making him quit. Kneebarred Jeremy Horn. KO'd Igor Zinoviev (body slam). Armbarred Kevin Jackson. Stopped Enson Inoue. Has fought and beaten only top caliber opposition. Universal Submission.

2. Vanderlei Silva (Brazil) - Beat down Daijira Matsui (Pride). Out grappled Carl Malenko (Pride). Punched out Eugene Jackson (IVC) and KO'd Tony Petarra (UFC). KO'd Adrian Serrano. IVC 2 finalist and IVC 6 superfight TKO winner over Mike Van Arsdale (kick). Chute Boxe Academy.

3. Bas Rutten (Holland) - Close victory over Randleman for UFC heavyweight crown. KO'd Kohsaka in dramatic fashion during UFC debut. Former three time King of Pancrase. Stronger as a middleweight.

4. Tito Ortiz (USA) - Pummeled and stopped Mezger. Roared back into the spotlight with a dominating stoppage of Jerry Bohlander. L.A. Boxing/Huntington Beach.

5. Ebenezer Fomtes Braga (Brazil) - Guillotined Jeremy Horn. Choked out Brandon Lee Hinkle to win IVC VI superfight. Champion of eight man Brazilian Vale Tudo tournament. Luta Livre Budokan team.

6. Dan Henderson (USA) - Advanced in the RINGS super tourney with two rock solid victories. UFC four man tournament victory plus a Brazilian four man Vale Tudo tournament. Durable and aggressive.

7. Allan Goes (Brazil) - UFC, Extreme Fighting and Pride veteran who gave Sakuraba his toughest fight (draw) at middleweight so far. Choked out Carl Malenko. Carlson Gracie team.

8. Akira Shoji (Japan) - Decisioned Mezger. Drew Renzo Gracie and stopped Wallid Ismail. Extremely motivated. Wajutsu Keisyukai dojo.

9. Renzo Gracie (Brazil) - Decision over Alexander Otsuka puts him back in the mix. Plans to get busy in 2000. KO win over Oleg Tanktarov. World Combat Championship 8 man tournament winner.

10. Jeremy Horn (USA) - Extreme Challenge and Hook n Shoot champ. UFC veteran. 26 wins without a loss in 1999! Team Extreme.

LIGHTWEIGHT (under 170 Pound) Top Ten

1. Jose "Pele" Landi Jons (Brazil) - Avenged loss to Johil De Oliveira in IVC XI. Winner of five 8 man NHB tournaments with outstanding 28-3 record. Wants either Miletich or Burnett. Chute Boxe Academy.

2. Pat "The Croatian Sensation" Miletich (USA) - UFC Lightweight Champ, Extreme Challenge superfight champ. Decisioned Mickey Burnett. Very experienced. Team Extreme.

3. Carlos Newton (Canada) - Extreme Fighting and Pride veteran. UFC middleweight tournament runner-up. Unpredictable and exciting. Team Ronin.

4. Hayato Sakurai (Japan) - Decisioned Jutaro Nakao. Considered a small lightweight with lots of heart. Abu Dhabi and Shooto veteran.

5. Flavio Moura (Brazil) - Stopped Castro to win IVC XI lightweight 8 man tournament. TKO'd Bahia. Luta Livre Budokan.

6. Nilson Castro (Brazil) - Street Fight Vale Tudo Champion (8 man). Runner up in IVC XI. TKO'd Barros. Chute Boxe Academy.

7. Alexandre Barros (Brazil) - IVC XIII eight man tournament winner. Ruas Vale Tudo.

8. Frank Trigg (USA) - KO'd Fabiano Iha in Pride. Fast and aggressive. Undefeated in NHB competition. RAW Team.

9. Matt Hughes (USA) - Extreme Challenge "Best of the Best" 8 man tournament champion with wins over Dave Menne and LaVerne Clark. UFC & Shooto veteran with a 15-1 record

10. Milton Bahia (Brazil) - IVC V runner up. Stopped the tough Haroldo Bunn (ax kick) in IVC XII.
