          Racial Preferences and Quotas ARE Racial Discrimination!  This discrimination is embodied in the policies, regulations, guidelines, and/or applicable statutes which (illegally and unconstitutionally) direct employers and government contracting agencies to give preference to people of color (historically economically disadvantaged) in decisions regarding hiring, firing, promotion, or contracting.  Also See Terms and Codewords.

          The phrase historically economically disadvantaged is government-speak for "the preferred skin color", as defined in the government's published list of minorities or individuals of specific ethnic origin, race, or gender (sex) who are presumed to have been subjected to historical disadvantage.  See also the official list of historically disadvantaged, as defined by your government.

You've GOT to be kidding...

          Atlanta, by all accounts a majority black city, has had black mayors and officials for many years.  You'd think that by now they would have figured out how to "grow their own" qualified black entrepreneurs without having to rely on racial quotas and set asides.  Apparently not.  Black Mayor Bill Campbell has vowed "a fight to the death" to retain their race-based perks.  The week of August 22 the Southeastern Legal Foundation has sued the city to end their use of quotas and preferences.  (Mayor Campbell likens them to the KKK!)  [See Link http://www.adversity.net/citysetasides_2_atlanta_campbell.htm ]

          Disparate impact has run amok, and academic test scores have been declared racist!  The Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights, abetted by our old friends at the Department of Justice, have been rattling their big sabers at educators:  Make tests that more minorities can pass, or you're in trouble.  Busing didn't work, admissions quotas didn't work, so the knot heads in DC figure that the tests must be racist.  Hmm, 2+2 equals what?           The same race-crazed Clinton-crats have thrown out police and fire department exams, substituting mumbo-jumbo "psychometric testing" and "biodata".  The government edict?   Police and fire departments WILL find a way to force more minorities and women to pass the "tests" (as they are politely called).  And the hell with seniority.  [See Link http://www.adversity.net/policefire.htm ]

          Over the course of many years of military downsizing the review boards were clearly instructed to retain a disproportionate number of minorities and females.  Millions of dollars in lawsuits later, the military has been forced to revise a few of their more reverse-racist practices.  [See Link http://www.adversity.net/military.htm ]

          The 25th anniversary of forced school busing has come and gone (June 1999) with barely a whimper.  Neither minority parents nor "white" parents want to bus their kids.  [See Link http://www.adversity.net/special/busing.htm ]  But wait!   Vouchers and neighborhood schools have been declared racist, too! 

          I have a dream!  Call it the "Dream of Tens".  If a mere 10 Fortune 500 companies refused to play the quota game, and if 10 top universities refused, and if only 10% of us lowly voters refused to supply race and ethnicity data on the census and other forms, even Washington DC would not have enough quota police to prosecute all of us!   The whole house of preferences would crumble!  Now THAT makes me smile!
