About Us

Over the past ten years, Renaissance Cruises has established itself as the leader in International cruise tour vacations. Over 350,000 satisfied guests have discovered the best of the Mediterranean, Asia, Africa and the South Pacific with Renaissance Cruises since 1989. With a focus on destination intensive itineraries and intimate, yet elegant vessels that offer all of the luxuries, amenities and services without the crowds of today's mega-liners, Renaissance Cruises is an innovator that continues to break the industry mold. Renaissance Cruises has enjoyed a phenomenal 380% compounded passenger growth rate over the past three years. In 2000, over 220,000 guests will sail with Renaissance Cruises to Mediterranean...more than Holland America, Princess and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines combined!

Renaissance Cruises is a private company, owned by an investment group under the stewardship of Edward B. Rudner. Prior to building Renaissance, Mr. Rudner was co-founder of Alamo Rent-A-Car and President of Certified Vacations. A corporate staff of over 350 professionals in Fort Lauderdale, Florida manage the day-to-day operations of the company. The management staff possesses decades of broad based experience in marketing, finance and operations.

The Renaissance fleet consists of two distinct product lines. Four brand new "R-Class" ships, the R1, R2, R3 and R4 each carry 684 passengers. The company also owns and operates the Renaissance VII and Renaissance VIII. These two all suite vessels each accommodate 114 passengers.

Four additional "R-Class" ships, the R5, R6, R7 and R8 are on order. The R5 will be delivered in January of 2000, with the R6 and R7 joining the fleet later in 2000. The R8 will be delivered in early 2001. At the end of the year 2000, the "R-Class" fleet will have a combined capacity of 4,788 berths. Nearly identical in design, each of the "R-Class" ships are being built by the Chantiers de l'Atlantique of Saint-Nazaire, France at a cost of approximately $180 million per ship.

Guests of Renaissance Cruises have come to enjoy enriching CruiseTour Vacations at surprisingly affordable prices. Each Renaissance CruiseTour Vacation includes open seating in every dining room, an all adult, smoke free environment and round-trip Exclusive Air Service, as part of the vacation package. Most packages also include Deluxe Hotel accomodations both before and after the cruise. The R-Class fleet currently offers 11-13 day vacations year-round to the Greek Isles, Mediterranean and Coastal Spain and Tahiti and The South Pacific. The Renaissance VII and VIII currently sail The Rivieras, Scandinavia and The Far East. In 2000, the Renaissance ships will offer cruise tour vacations to Africa inclusive of a four day Kenyan Safari, The Seychelles Islands and Ancient Egypt.
