7 divisions sign up for Region 9 Games

ZAMBOANGA CITY (ABS-CBN) - At least seven school divisions in Western Mindanao have confirmed their attendance for this year's regional athletics competition in Zamboanga City.

The games will officially kick-off on March 20 at the city's Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex.

Education Department Regional director Ibrahim Albar said the athletes from the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte and Basilan will be arriving in Zamboanga City beginning this week.

Host Zamboanga City is expected to dominate in the competitions as shown by the good performance of the city's athletes in the recently-concluded "Palaro ng Bayan" in General Santos.
