    Ruossa Eanan Her second album, on Sweden's contemporary music label Atrium, is rather similar in attitude and design to the Frode Fjellheim & Transjoik CD, with some of the same players: Frode on synthesizer, vocals and percussion, Nils Olav Johansson on guitar, plus Jonas Knutsson on saxophone, producer Manne von Ahn Öberg on bass and percussion and a cellist. Ulla joiks and plays frame drum and bells. Another very fine Sami album for modern times. (Atrium 0630 19717-2) 130

  • JOJK - A PRESENTATION OF SAMI FOLK MUSIC Here's a deluxe box set including 3CDs and a 300 page hardback book. The CDs collect together all the joiks from the two recording journeys made by the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation in 1953. Includes 195 joiks from all regions of Sámiland. The book, written by the recording team, includes stories of Sámi life, personal portraits and words of all the joiks, in both Swedish and English.
