COBY'S CAFE, Sampaloc,
Manila - The
premier Filipino rock band, the Eraserheads, are the Dawn of the 90s. No other local
rock act has as a diverse appeal and as many great slices of 3 minute hook-laden gems.
Their albums have consistently produced single after hit single and the latest offering
from the quartet is Natin 99 is no different. The E-Heads took their act
to Cobys Café the hottest place for U.S.T. students and their friends to party.
Members of modern
rock bands Imago, Garlic and Sandwich were seen amongst the crowd and the Planet Gimmick
G Force. The crowd, mostly composed of students and fresh faced yuppies, braved the
torrential down pour and gathered on the second floor of Cobys Café to enjoy an
The hit songs kept on coming, from the newer
singles like, Mahiwagang Bahaghari & Huwag Kang Matakot to
such favorites as Magasin, Torpedo, Haraana,
Pare Ko, Julie Tearjerky, and Alapaap.
The E-Heads didnt seem their usual carefree selves
though, as they probably were bad trip from some off-tuned instruments and the lousy
weather. But the crowds were seen bobbing their heads and singing along, albeit with
surprising restrain, since an intimate place like Cobys wouldve been ideal for
some friendly moshing.
