8-Doug Miller from 20 yards is very wide left of goal
8-Ante Razov from the "D" is saved by Pat Onstad
12-Rochester has an excellent change. Scott Schweitzer sends the ball forward to Yari Allnut, who heads it down right to Mauro Biello who is all alone from 10 yards. His blast is just wide of the right post.
16-Doug Miller in front of goal puts it well over the bar
23-Off a corner, Scott Schweitzer plays a ball to the back post to Darren Tilley, who leaps and just misses an all alone header

35-A Peter Nowak shot from 20 yards is deflected for a corner
36-Off a corner, Jerzy Podbrozny sends it back to the center of the park and Lubos Kubik runs onto it and his one-timed blast just misses the to left corner
45-Some nifty maneuvering by Josh Wolff in the box yields a shot that is deflected for a save
A 3rd round US Open cup-tie provided Division II Rochester with a chance for a "Game of the Year," and during the first half they came out very determined and energized to knock off the cup-holders. Both teams had offensive opportunities and Chicago seemed to control the ball prior to the break, but the Raging Rhinos had the better quality scoring chances and wasted two good opportunities. Chicago seemed to drift in and out of the first half and no one could put the ball in the net as the first half ended nil-nil.
Second Half
46-A dangerous run by Josh Wolff, he takes a pass from Peter Nowak and heads down the left flank. His shot is deflected for a corner
51-Yari Allnut scores for Rochester, 1-0. Michael Kirmse is free down the right side, he cuts the ball back and crosses to the center of the "6," where Allnut runs onto it and heads it into the lower left side as three white Chicago shirts are caught ball watching and flat-footed.
61-Diego Gutierrez one-touches a ball to the left corner, which Peter Nowak runs onto and one-times it, but it is just wide right
63- A Lubos Kubik freekick is saved by Onstad and the rebound is cleared
64-Josh Wolff is all alone from 18 and his shot is saved by Onstad for a corner
70-Mauro Biello gets free down the left flank and his shot is saved by Thornton
71-Doug Miller tries a scissors kick from the sport, but it is over the bar
76-Lubos Kubik loses the ball and Rochester seems to go on a 2-on-0 break, but Kubik grabs a Rhino and then collides with him, and as he is about to be booked with a 2nd yellow card a scuffle ensues between him and Rochester tough guy Scott Schweitzer. Both teams get together and lots of players are in a large pack. Some pushing and shoving and possible punches are thrown. Kubik is sent-off for what would have been a 2nd yellow and Schweitzer is red-carded for his role in the scuffle. Also Tommy Tanner is booked.
85-A Jerzy Podbrozny freekick from 25 yards in the center of the park is curled wide right
88-A Tommy Tanner shot from 25 yards is wide left
90-Pat Onstad cuts off a pass in the area from Peter Nowak
90-Ante Razov has a go from 30 yards that is wide right
Rochester scored an early goal on a play where Rhinos offensive leader Yari Allnutt makes a run between 3 Fire players, who watch him flat-footed. Chicago only then turns it on, but Rochester wisely packs it in the back and Chicago cannot get good quality scoring chances, as the "Double" champions frequently find 8 or 9 Rhinos in the box. Chicago does get a few decent scoring opportunities but by then the Cup-holders can't convert and are upset in the 3rd round of the U.S. Open Cup, a single-elimination tournament they won last year in their inaugural season.

Quotes from Tonight's Game:
Coach Bob Bradley on tonight's game:
"It is disappointing to lose the trophy we won last year. We knew Rochester is a good team and this would be a tough place to play, but our effort was not good enough tonight. We didn't string together enough passes and/or plays, and did a bad job on the last touch and in the offensive third. The first half was a feeling out process, and not a lot was done on both sides of the ball. In the 2nd half we wanted to push from the start, we wanted to raise our level, but we got down a goal and only then did we have a good response. There were lots of emotions out there, they had a good crowd and the field is narrow and is a tough place to play, difficult to play good soccer. Rochester did a lot tonight, and we didn't do enough on our end, at least until we went down 1-0, then we didn't get the breaks."
Chicago Defender Tom Soehn:
"We have trouble with teams that pack it in and clog the middle, and we had some chances we couldn't get it done. The small hurts possession oriented team's like ours but it was a great effort on their end. They won the tackles and did more than we did, they just wanted it more. This was a hug game for them, their World Cup."
Chicago midfielder Diego Gutierrez:
"It is always difficult to go on the road and in an environment like this. Rochester was pumped up in front of a great crowd and their team did well. They got an early 2nd half goal and frustration got the better of us. We got some chances but couldn't equalize."
