About the Program
About the Application
What is the Google affiliate program? The Google affiliate program allows you to offer world-class Google search directly to your own web site visitors. By placing a Google search box on your web site, your visitors can search the entire web using Google. You earn $.03 for every search performed from your site. Google will pay you a $.03 commission for each Google search performed from your site, with a check at the end of each financial quarter. Although we will not send a commission check for less than $25, accounts that earn under $25 will carry over to the next quarter. Google will send you a check on a quarterly basis (every three months) reflecting all your referral fees for the Google searches performed from your site. The date we accept you into the program is the beginning of your first quarterly period. If your referral fee is less than $25 in any one quarter, we carry that amount over to the next quarter and include it in your next check. How much does it cost to join? Absolutely nothing. There is no cost to you to become a Google affiliate. Almost none. Once approved as an affiliate, you need only complete the online set-up process to place the Google search box on your site. In just a few minutes your link to Google will be set and ready to go. How do you track the searches I send you? Google uses an outside firm to track the number of searches conducted on your site and to report the number of searches conducted to us and to you. When a search comes from your site, they verify it's legitimate and then credit your account. Is my web site eligible to become a Google affiliate? Almost any web site is eligible, as long as it does not contain pornographic, hate, violent, or otherwise objectionable content. Most international sites are eligible. You must have a live web site in order to apply. My site is not live yet. Can I join anyway? Unfortunately, no. You need a live web site in order to apply to become a Google Affiliate. Once your site is live, we would welcome your application. I operate more than one web site. Can I still be an affiliate? Yes. You can have multiple sites as an affiliate. You can have one affiliate account with us that will include all of your sites. You can track the progress of each of your sites separately and be paid with a single commission check if you prefer. Will becoming a Google affiliate increase traffic to my site? Our affiliate program is primarily a way of rewarding you for helping us spread the word about Google. While it's not specifically designed to help you build your own traffic, it does enhance your site with Google's advanced search technology, which may increase the frequency of visits by your current users. Can I participate in other affiliate programs? You are welcome to participate in other affiliate programs and many offer very enticing rewards. You might want to consider how much value each new affiliate offers to your users. Also, be sure to keep in mind that the more programs you add to your site, the less likely it is that any particular program will receive much attention from your users. This can lengthen the amount of time needed to reach minimums for payouts built into many of these programs. What is the definition of monthly page views? Monthly page views is the estimated number of visited pages within your Web site in a month. We request this information on our affiliate application. If your Web site contains 10 pages, and you estimate 100 unique visitors to your site monthly, you may conclude that your site receives 1000 monthly page views. URL is an abbreviation for Uniform Resource Locator or the address of a Web site. For example, http://www.google.com is a URL. Why do you want me to categorize my site? We will use your category information to send you information and possibly promotions or advertising that will help you increase the number of searches and the amount of your commissions. |
