Crochet Hooks sizes G and E, OR ANY SIZE HOOK REQUIRED FOR GAUGE BELOW.
GAUGE: 9 sc = 2 inches on G hook
Directions are given for sizes 8-10. Changes for sizes 12-14, 16 are given in brackets.
___FRONT: With G hook and White, ch 17, 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in the next 2 ch, 3 sc in next ch, 1 sc in next 3 ch, skip 2 ch, 1 sc in next 3 ch, 3 sc in next ch, 1 sc in next 3 ch, ch 1, turn. [18 sts].
___ROW 2: Skip 1st sc, 1 sc in next 3 sc, 3 sc in center sc of previous row, 1 sc in next 3 sc, skip center 2 sc, 1 sc in next 3 sc, 3 sc in center sc, 1 sc in next 2 sc, skip next sc, sc in last sc, ch 1, turn.
___Repeat row 2 for 1-1/2 [2-1/2, 2-1/2] inches, inc 1 st each side every other row 4 times alternating colors, 4 rows White, * 2 rows Red, 4 rows White, 2 rows Navy , 4 rows White, 2 rows Med. Blue, 4 rows White, repeat from * for color sequence, ch 25 [34-43], 1 sc in 2nd st from hook and in each st of ch. 24 [33-42]. Work across pattern sts. With a separate piece of yarn, ch 24 [33-42], work 1 sc in each st of ch, ch 1, turn.
___Work even on 74 [92-110] sts until 7 [7-1/2, 8] inches, (measure at side edge), change to size E hook, dec 1 sc at beg and end of next row, then every other row once more, work on 70 [88-106] sts for 2 [2-1/2, 3] inches, change back to size G hook and work until 14 [16-16] inches at side seams, cut yarn, turn.
___Join yarn in center sc of 1st 3 sc group, work in pattern to center sc of last 3 sc group. Dec 1 st at each side every other row until 54 [72-90] sts are left. Work even on 54 [72-90] sts for 7 [7-1/2, 7-1/2] inches from armhole, cut yarn.
___BACK: Ch 17, work same as front in pattern for 1-1/2 inches, inc 2 sts at each side every other row until there are 38 sts. At end of last row, ch 18 [27-36], 1 sc in 2nd st from hook and in each remaining st of ch, work in pattern across the 38 sts. With a separate piece of yarn, ch 17 [26-35] work 1 sc in each st of ch, continue in pattern and color sequence until back measures same as front to underarm, cut yarn. Sew crotch seam. Sew side seams matching rows. On right side, work a row of sc on armholes, 1 row of sc around edge of Pants.
___CASING: On wrong side of work, at top right edge, join yarn in 4th row below top, ch 4, sl st in center st of point in 2nd row, * ch 4, sI st in center st of point in 4th row, ch 4, sl st in center st of point in 2nd row, repeat from * across top.
___DRAWSTRING: Work a 36 inch ch, 1 sc in 2nd st from hook and in each remaining st of ch, cut yarn. Lace drawstring through casing, tie in back.
