I was raised, and my parents still live on the farm that's been
in my Mother's family for several generations, and in the house my Great-
Grandfather built in the 1880s. Nearby, our other farm has belonged to my
Dad's side of my family for several generations as well (where the
sassafras grows). Both families lost, then regained, these farms during
the Great Depression, and there's much family and local history that I've
grown up hearing, including how they were on opposite sides during the
Civil War...
