John Carmack of id Software does a review on a bunch of video cards. Outlining each company's strengths and the low down on some of the features promised by video card manufacturers. The article focuses on video card chipset manufacturers including 3Dfx, NVIDIA, and ATi and each issue involving fill rate, and texture compression methods.
The GeForce2 is just a speed bumped GeForce with a few tweaks, but that's not a bad thing. Nvidia will have far and away the tightest drivers for quite some time, and that often means more than a lot of new features in the real world.
The real unique feature of the voodoo5 is subpixel jittering during rasterization, which can't reasonably be emulated by other hardware. This does indeed improve the quality of anti-aliasing, although I think 3dfx might be pushing it a bit by saying their 4 sample jittering is as good as 16 sample unjittered.

WomenGamers.Com had the wonderful opportunity to interview Roberta Williams, the gaming legend who co-founded Sierra and helped define adventure gaming as we know it.
"...in working with people, men as well as women, I have few chips on my shoulder, I stay pretty cool under pressure, and I let things slide off my back. I think those are good qualities for people in order to succeed. If somebody says something negative, generally, I ignore it, and then just work even harder in order to prove them wrong. It's very satisfying to prove someone wrong and then see the egg on their face - especially, if you had done it in a very calm, cool, and professional way, and not ever gave them the satisfaction that they had ever rattled you."

Red Alert 2 News
- 5/18 19:29 - PyGmY
Westwood has updated their page with a large portion of it advertising RA2. This links to the Red Alert 2 site, with a spanking new layout, sporting the game's red and black theme. It brandishes a flash intro, transporting you to the news site. For now, the content consists of their endorsed previews, FAQs from the 2 producers: Bonin & Skaggs, and unit lists with picture included. Plus, to frustrate every visitor, a Classified Files section that is "Coming Soon". This category will serve to give them more room to hype their game.
If Westwood has time to make such a content-rich, quality site; production must be well on its way. Let's hope that Classified Files section contains a Beta file sometime soon:)Comments (0)

I got this email from X'Ds~Grrrr... it is basically an update on how he is doing in Korea. So here it is:
I'm writing a Strategy guide of 400 pages right now. 1st edition will be in
korean and should be out in 2 months or so.
For those of you who want more movies like those from the brood war world championship (me vs Leader[sg]), check out the games of the tooniverse tournament.
Or Kbs tournament... www.crezio.com (ed note: somewhere on the crezio webpage are more battle reports, but you need korean text support to navigate the page) damn it's impossible to find unless you speak korean and i dunno where =[
Korean Tournaments :
SBS tournament (8 pro gamers invited, including pillars maynard, thor and I)
It was on national TV. Thor got second and got one grand. I got 5 grands for
1st place. (this is a 2 months old tournament)
KBS tournament (8 pro gamers invited, only me and korean pro gamers invited). Games are at www.crezio.com somewhere. I won it and got 7 grands.
Hanaro(cellphone compagnie)/tooniverse tournament. (48 progames invited and
4 seeded, Maynard Pillars and I were invited) Pillars made top 16, and I
played the finale yesterday live on tv. I won in 5 games against SM_H.O.T486
which is the best korean zerg player right now. Prize pool was 20 grands for
1st and 5 grands for second place.
Have fun. Btw this is the REAL grrrr don't go like Stranix from some stupid
website saying im fake k? check my homepage www.xds.dreamcite.com if u doubt.
Sounds like Grrrr... is having fun. For those of you who don't know, Grrrr... is currently living the life of a Pro Gamer in Korea. The only other non Korean besides Grrrr... is [9]eVERLAST. Some other big name Starcraft players, spent a few months in Korea as well (they have come home though) those players were Maynard, Thor and Pillars. I'd like to wish good luck to Grrrr... and all the other pro gamers in there future endeavors.Comments (4)
